Israel plans reserve call-up as officials brace for prolonged conflict

The Israeli military is planning a large-scale mobilisation of reserve forces, with units expected to be deployed along the borders with the occupied West Bank and Jordan, according to Israeli Army Radio.

The broadcaster also reported that Israel’s security establishment believes it is at the beginning of a military confrontation that could last several days.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported that air defence systems were activated in and around the western city of Kermanshah to counter what it described as hostile aerial targets.

The developments came as hostilities between Israel and Iran continued to escalate following exchanges of missile and air strikes.
