Arsenal ended their 22-year wait for a Premier League title and are being linked with several transfer targets
Arsenal could be presented with an opportunity to agree a complicated swap deal that would see them sign Marcus Rashford this summer. The Gunners are looking to strengthen the left-hand side of their attack and Mikel Arteta called on the club’s ownership to be ‘very ambitious’ following defeat to PSG in the Champions League final.
They’ve been linked with several wingers so far, with just over a week until the summer transfer window opens. One of those stars is Manchester United forward Rashford.
The England international, who is currently out in Miami with Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the World Cup, has impressed on loan with Barcelona this season.
The La Liga outfit have a reported £26m option-to-buy Rashford, and the 28-year-old has expressed his desire to make the move a permanent one.
However, Barcelona’s financial struggles in recent years make that deal a difficult one. The La Liga side have already signed Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United for £69m and are looking to add a striker to their ranks.
Hansi Flick’s side have also been linked with a move for Piero Hincapie, with Arsenal boasting a £45m option-to-buy the Ecuador international.

The 24-year-old has impressed since arriving in North London, spending the 2025/26 campaign on loan with the Gunners.
However, Arteta’s side have options in the heart of defence and at left-back, meaning they could sell Hincapie this summer and flip a quick profit.
There’s also a possibility that Hincapie is used as part of a player-plus cash swap deal with Barcelona to sign Rashford.
It means Barca would have to exercise the option to sign the England star, and then offload him to the Gunners in an attempt to bring down the asking price for Hincapie.
Make no mistake, it’s a tricky deal to do, but one that’s possible in theory.
Arsenal are understood to be in the market for a left-back this summer, but it’s unclear whether a future deal for Hincapie is taken into account.
The Gunners are also being linked with a move for Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez in what would be a real statement of intent from Arsenal.
“We start to make some very important decisions if we want to reach another level,” Arteta said after the Champions League defeat.
“And we’re going to have to show that ambition because we are more than capable of doing it, but it’s going to demand to be very, very ambitious, very fast and very smart.”
