Arsenal are set to be busy in the transfer market as they target incoming deals and sales ahead of attempting to defend their Premier League title
Arsenal could have their biggest-ever sale on their hands this summer if Bayern Munich complete a move for Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian winger has been on the Bundesliga side’s shortlist since England manager Thomas Tuchel was at the club, but Bayern may now be ready to move.
The German giants are in the market for a winger and have already missed out on Anthony Gordon, following his transfer to Barcelona. Vincent Kompany’s side are keen to find more depth out wide, and reports in Germany claim that a £38.9million bid would be enough to convince Arsenal.
The Gunners’ previous most expensive sale was when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain departed the Emirates for Liverpool. The former England midfielder brought in £35m for the Gunners in 2017.

Bayern are said to be targeting a player to develop in the position rather than a high-profile name. They are in search of a backup option and that may not prove persuasive to the 24-year-old.
Martinelli enjoyed a successful season with Arsenal but was often used from the bench by Mikel Arteta. After just 11 Premier League starts last term, the winger is said to be available for a move.
The Brazilian, alongside Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus and Ben White, could depart this summer.
football.london understands that left wing is a priority area for Arsenal to strengthen during the transfer window. Martinelli has a year remaining on his contract, with an option for a further year, that makes this an important summer for the club to ask for a sizeable fee.
Ethan Nwaneri is another who could depart this summer. The academy product joined Marseille on loan in January, and came close to moving to Borussia Dortmund last summer, with the German club remaining interested.
The Gunners are eyeing young talent to replenish their squad too. Arsenal are eyeing a move for Jeremy Monga following Leicester City’s relegation to League One.
The 16-year-old would require a fee between £10m and £15m to make the move from the Midlands. Monga made his Premier League debut in 2024/25 when the Foxes were in the top flight.
Arteta called for his side to be ambitious this summer after their Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
“We will start to make some very important decisions if we want to reach another level,” he said. “And we’re going to have to show that ambition because we are more than capable of doing it, but it’s going to demand to be very, very ambitious, very fast and very smart.”
