Arsenal believe they are well-positioned to land Morgan Rogers should he become available this summer and Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen to make the Aston Villa forward a central figure in his summer recruitment drive.
However, they face stiff competition from Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Chelsea, with Rogers set to be one of the most sought-after players on the market.
Aston Villa are determined to hold onto their prized asset, particularly following their qualification for next season’s Champions League.
Nevertheless, Arsenal are confident that, should a transfer materialise, they would be Rogers’ most appealing destination.
Arteta is a firm admirer of the England international, who can operate as a No.10 or on the left flank — an area Arsenal are actively looking to bolster this summer, reports the Mirror.
The Arsenal boss has a well-documented preference for versatile players, a quality that makes Rogers all the more attractive, particularly if the club are prepared to spend upwards of £80m on a top international talent.
A sell-on clause is included in the Rogers deal, stemming from his move to Villa Park from Middlesbrough in January 2024, which could inflate his asking price should Villa decide to cash in.

Rogers has been outstanding at Villa, cementing himself as an England regular and is now locked in a battle with Jude Bellingham for the starting No.10 berth under Thomas Tuchel ahead of the World Cup.
England’s opening fixture against Croatia falls on June 17, with bookmakers even offering odds on whether it will be Rogers or Bellingham who starts.
Tuchel holds Rogers in exceptionally high regard due to his quality, game intelligence and physicality, attributes that have established him as one of the summer’s most sought-after talents.
Arteta has also pressed the club to act swiftly in order to gain an advantage in the transfer market, a message conveyed directly to the hierarchy following the Champions League final loss to PSG, clearly intended to facilitate some major summer acquisitions.
Arsenal are also conscious they’ll encounter stiff competition for Rogers, while Villa are reluctant to part with him, yet the Gunners believe their momentum from an outstanding campaign that delivered their first title in 22 years puts them at the front of the queue.
