Sevilla of Spain striker Akor Jerome Adams has confessed that he always has a great pleasure putting on Nigeria’s jersey, and he takes it as a privilege for his career, Sports247 reports.

Akor used the opportunity of another presence for him in the Super Eagles camp ahead of international friendlies against Poland and Portugal to restate his commitment to Nigeria’s national team duties.
The former youth international added during a live television interview with TVC News that all players in the Eagles’ camp will give their best efforts in both matches, despite having toiled with their respective clubs in the season.
He reckoned that the Eagles would do well against Poland on Wednesday because the squad is buoyed by their heroics in winning the 2026 Unity Cup in London, which should equally motivate them into next week’s game away to Portugal.
“We are enthusiastic because the boys played very well in the Unity Cup, and we are back-to-back champions of that competition. That gives us a lot of positive vibes and energy.
“Although we’ve all had many games to our legs this season, we are positive, and we are working hard towards the two friendly matches ahead of us,” Akor affirmed.
He also looked at the fact that the Eagles are yet to lose any match in open play since Franco-Malian tactician, Eric Sekou Chelle took over the mantle, which he acknowledged is a very great achievement, but stressed that the most important thing is to think of each match ahead of them.
“We are not thinking about any records that we’ve set. All I know is that we are seeing a new identity being created in the Super Eagles,
“Since the gaffer took over, we’ve been playing with a lot of intensity. We’re aggressive, with or without the ball, and we just try to keep the right DNA going all the time.
“We want to keep our DNA, so that we can make the right impact and get good results,” added Akor, who also spoke about his love for Nigeria, with a declaration that he gets personal satisfaction from playing for the country.
Akor posited gleefully, “It’s always a privilege and great pleasure to put on the jersey for Nigeria. It’s my country and I have it dear in my heart.
“I try to give each match the very best that I can, and I look forward to each game as another exciting moment with the national team. It’s the same way I’m looking forward to these two friendly matches.”
