The Ogun State Chapter of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA) has called on football stakeholders, coaches, supporters, and members of the public to turn out in large numbers for Nigeria’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying match against Guinea.

The second-leg encounter is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at the Remo Stars Stadium, with kick-off set for 4:00 p.m.
Sports247 reports that in a statement released through its Secretariat, the association urged football enthusiasts across Ogun State and beyond to rally behind the Flamingos as they continue their quest to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
The match carries added significance for the Ogun football community as the Flamingos are currently led by Akeem Busari, who serves as the Technical Director of the NFCA Ogun State Chapter.
Busari, recently appointed head coach of the national U-17 women’s team, has been widely praised for his contributions to grassroots and youth football development in Nigeria.
According to the association, the fixture presents an opportunity for coaches and football stakeholders in the state to demonstrate solidarity with one of their own while also supporting the national team in a crucial stage of the qualification campaign.
The NFCA emphasized that strong home support can play a vital role in motivating the players and creating a positive atmosphere capable of inspiring victory.
The association also described Busari’s appointment as a source of pride for Ogun State, noting that his achievements continue to showcase the quality of coaching talent being produced within the state.
