Brighton & Hove Albion of England Ladies’ goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie will this Sunday gun for a portion of history, as she joins The Seagulls in search of victory over Manchester City in the Women’s FA Cup final, Sports247 reports.
Nnadozie has been in top form this season with Brighton and would be counted on again to help the squad pull off a huge shock, as the team coached by Dario Vidosic take on England’s Women’s Super League champions this Sunday at Wembley Stadium.
Vidosic will also count on the Super Falcons star, Africa’s best female goalkeeper for three years running, to help his side win their first major trophy ever, with their hopes further buoyed by a famous victory over Arsenal in the quarter-finals.
Incidentally, Nnadozie was in sparkling form during an earlier encounter between both sides, as she helped Brighton defeat Sunday’s opponents in the Women’s Super League (WSL) during one of their past six matches, thereby further raising her hope for victory on Sunday.
The team now heads into Sunday’s game at Wembley in good form and the shot-stopper, who played a key role in Brighton’s historic comeback win against Liverpool during the semi-finals, is fired up for victory, as she declared, “I can’t wait to play at Wembley.
“So excited! I can’t wait – bring it on. It’s super amazing. This team has been through a lot this season. We’ve worked hard, we deserve it. Big thank you to our fans, because they have been with us from day one.
“Even when we travel far away to play, they are there before us – as soon as we step off the bus, they are screaming. So, I would say: thank you, keep supporting, keep praying for us. And hopefully we will make you proud on Sunday.”
Sports247 reports further that Nnadozie is cited among star players to watch during the final of the competition that is officially known as Adobe Women’s FA Cup, as Brighton & Hove Albion lock horns with Manchester City from 3pm on Sunday.
