Donald Trump missed his son Donald Jr’s recent wedding to his new bride Bettina Trump – the loved-up couple shared a new video of the wedding week from the Bahamas
Donald Trump Jr has shared doting pictures of him and his new bride after his wedding that dad Donald Trump skipped.
“The night I married my best friend, my love, and my forever,” the US president’s eldest child, 48, said in a gushing Instagram post that showed the pair enjoying their wedding in the Bahamas.
He added: “Bettina, you have brought so much peace, joy, and light into my life.”
Donald Jr’s dad missed his son’s wedding because of the Iran war.
In a Truth Social post a day before the wedding last week, the president said: “While I very much wanted to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump Family, his soon to be wife, Bettina, circumstances pertaining to Government, and my love for the United States of America, do not allow me to do so.
“I feel it is important for me to remain in Washington, D.C., at the White House during this important period of time. Congratulations to Don and Bettina!”
Bettina, formerly Anderson, and Don Jr were originally considering getting married at the White House, but scaled back their plans amid the ongoing conflict in Iran. A larger celebration with extended family and friends is being planned for later this year, potentially at the White House.
Newly released videos of the wedding on the luxury island of Little Pipe Cay, Don Jr could be seen arriving at the small ceremony on a golf buggy.
The words “Love Trumps all” were formed by candles seen in close-up shots. Guests then held sparklers as the newlyweds walked down a beach.
Don Jr and Bettina began dating at some point in 2024 and got engaged in December last year. Sources close to them have said to the Mail that they now plan on having children together.
A friend of the couple told the outlet: “Both of them have told friends that they plan on having kids together. I’ve never seen Don so happy on a personal level.
“It’s pretty clear to those of us who know him well that Bettina is a perfect match for him. They both have very laid-back and easygoing personalities that click really well. You can tell that they genuinely love being around each other.”
Another person close to the couple told the outlet: “Bettina wants to start her own family, no question about it. She’s really looking forward to that prospect.”
Don Jr has already has five children with his ex-wife, Vanessa Trump, with whom he was married from 2005 to 2018. The now-divorced couple shares two daughters, Kai, 19, and Chloe, 11, and three sons, Donald III, 17, Tristan, 14, and Spencer, 13. Bettina is allegedly close to Don Jr’s children.
