Nigerian sprinter Edidiong Udo continued his impressive run of form at the NCAA East First Round after securing qualification from Heat 2 of the men’s 400m event.

Sports247 reports that Udo produced another composed performance on the track, finishing second in the heat with a time of 45.39 seconds to earn automatic qualification for the next round.
American athlete Joey Gant won the heat in 45.25 seconds, while Kelsey Singleton also advanced comfortably after finishing third in 45.72 seconds.
The Nigerian quarter-miler maintained his consistency throughout the race, showing excellent speed and control as he secured one of the automatic qualifying spots.
Meanwhile, fellow Nigerian athlete Alexander Osayemi narrowly missed out on automatic qualification after finishing fourth in the heat with a time of 46.24 seconds.
Despite missing the top three automatic spots, Osayemi still showed determination and competitiveness in a tightly contested race featuring strong collegiate athletes.
Edidiong Udo’s qualification continues Nigeria’s growing presence at the NCAA championships this season, with several Nigerian athletes delivering impressive performances across sprint and field events.
The talented sprinter will now shift focus to the next stage of the competition as he aims to continue his progress and challenge for a place among the top collegiate 400m athletes in the United States.
