Fernandes in contract talks

Man Utd are set to reward Bruno Fernandes with an improved contract after his record-breaking Premier League season, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Premier League Player of the Season and new record assist holder is expected to once again receive bids from Saudi Arabian clubs, but Man Utd want to do everything in their power to keep their captain.

“According to my information, movements behind the scenes have already started for Bruno Fernandes to remain at Man Utd this summer,” Romano said. “Man Utd, from what I understand, are prepared to make significant efforts to keep Bruno. Contacts are ongoing.”

Araujo pursuit

Man Utd are interested in signing Sporting CP wing-back Maxi Araujo, CaughtOffside claims.

The Red Devils are known to be in the market for a left-back, with the Uruguay international emerging as a strong option. Araujo can play at full-back and further forward.

Araujo, who is also fielding interest from Chelsea, has an €80 million release clause. It is, however, unlikely that Sporting will insist on his clause being triggered. The level of interest in Araujo means that a summer exit is quite likely.

Leao exit expected

Rafael Leao is expected to be offloaded by AC Milan this summer, as per Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Many” players will leave the Rossoneri following their late-season collapse, which saw them drop out of the Champions League spots and resulted in the sacking of manager Max Allegri and three other senior figures.

Leao is set to be available for just €50m. It was recently claimed that Man Utd have “reactivated” their long-standing interest in the Portugal international, who is also being eyed by Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.

Tchouameni bid?

Man Utd are poised to make a bid for Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, Fichajes asserts.

The France international has been described as a “dream” target for the Red Devils in their search for a suitable replacement for Casemiro. Real Madrid, however, are reluctant to sanction his exit.

Nevertheless, Man Utd will try to test the LaLiga giants’ resolve with a bid for Tchouameni. He is one of numerous midfielders being targeted by the Old Trafford club this summer.

Man Utd still keen on Suzuki

Man Utd remain keen on Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, Gazzetta dello Sport reports (via Sport Witness).

The Japan international first emerged on the Red Devils’ radar as a potential replacement for David de Gea in 2023, and they have continued to be linked with him following his move to Europe. He has been impressive in Serie A after a brief stint in Belgium.

It is claimed that Man Utd are “preparing a move for Suzuki,” though Galatasaray are also in the mix to sign him. Michael Carrick and company will likely be forced to sign a new goalkeeper this summer, as No.2 Altay Bayindir is expected to leave.
