Chief Executive Officer of Parrot Sports Group, Anthony Sunday Samuel, has expressed concern over the absence of Super Eagles first-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali during the team’s final training session ahead of tomorrow’s Unity Cup clash against Zimbabwe.

Speaking in an interview with Sports247, Anthony Sunday Samuel described Nwabali’s absence as a major concern for the national team while stressing the importance of building depth in the goalkeeping department.
“Nwabali’s absence is a big problem. We have seen Francis Uzoho several times, and I think Arthur Okonkwo should be given a chance against Zimbabwe,” he stated.
The sports administrator further emphasized the need for the Super Eagles technical crew to begin preparing more players for future international competitions, particularly in the goalkeeping position.
“We need to start preparing our players, especially the goalkeepers, for the upcoming football events,” he added.
Arthur Okonkwo, who has continued to attract attention with his performances at club level, is being considered by many football observers as one of the goalkeepers capable of challenging for a regular place in the national team setup.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles are expected to face Zimbabwe in the Unity Cup encounter as preparations continue for future international assignments and major tournaments.
