Director of the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians, Tayab Ali, has publicly challenged UK Home Secretary Yvette Cooper over what he described as a contradiction between Britain’s stated concern for Gaza and its continued military cooperation with Israel.
Ali, who is a prominent international lawyer, cited Cooper’s remarks at the Global Partnerships Conference, where she said Gaza’s healthcare system had collapsed and pledged continued efforts to secure humanitarian access.
In a post on social media, Ali argued that the UK continued to cooperate militarily with Israel while shielding what he described as Israeli war criminals from accountability.
The criticism comes as Britain maintains military ties with Israel, including arms sales, intelligence sharing and other forms of defence cooperation, despite growing international concern over conditions in Gaza.
