Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan said Israel’s military campaign in Gaza goes beyond occupation and is aimed at ending the Palestinian presence in the territory.
Speaking to Drop Site News, Hamdan said Israel was attempting to convince Palestinians that they have no future in their homeland and that leaving was the only option.
Hamdan rejected calls for Hamas to disarm under those conditions, saying resistance remained “the best protection for the Palestinian cause”.
He also warned that continued pressure on Palestinians could lead to renewed conflict, arguing that Palestinians as a whole would continue to fight if faced with what he described as a choice between displacement and resistance.
