The UK, Germany, Italy, France called on the Israeli government to end the expansion of settlements and address settler violence in the occupied West Bank, in a joint statement reported by Wafa news agency.
The statement noted that Israeli settlements are deemed illegal under national law, drawing particular attention to the E1 settlement project, which aims to bisect the occupied West Bank.
According to the report, the European countries urged the Israeli government to “end its settlement expansion, ensure accountability for settler violence, and conduct investigations into what is directed at Israeli forces.”
