Arsenal have not quite been able to completely shake off Pep Guardiola with his new Manchester City-related job confirmed on Friday
Manchester City have confirmed that Pep Guardiola will become a ‘global ambassador’ for the club’s owners City Football Group. After a decade at Etihad Stadium – with the latter part of that almost preventing Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal from getting their hands on a Premier League title – Guardiola’s departure has been confirmed, but he is not completely leaving.
That is because in City’s announcement it was stated that he will be providing technical advice to club’s part of the City Football Group. That includes the likes of Girona, Palermo, New York City FC, among many others and, of, course, Man City.
Taking up such a role will see him further away from the day-to-day but he will be still be involved with City to some extent.
Following his Liverpool departure, Jurgen Klopp took on a similar role at Red Bull with his and Guardiola’s exits seeing Arteta become the longest-serving manager in each of English football’s top-four divisions.

Despite winning a domestic cup double, Guardiola ends his managerial tenure on somewhat of a sour note with Arteta finally besting him to the Premier League title.
The Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain and summer transfer window are the next priorities for the Gunners.
Arsenal are due to face Luis Enrique’s side in Budapest next Saturday with injured duo Ousmane Dembele and Achraf Hakimi expected to be available as the latest major update in the days leading up to the showpiece.
