The Lebanese army has issued a statement regarding upcoming negotiations between Lebanon and Israel, stressing that the military delegation taking part in the talks remains committed to the army’s principles.
“The officers assigned to the mission represent the nation and they are carrying out the decisions of the military establishment,” the statement said.
It added that the delegation participating in negotiations at the Pentagon is “committed to national principles and the army’s doctrine”.
The army also dismissed reports regarding the sectarian distribution of the delegation, saying such claims “have no relation to the principles of the military institution”.
