Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira has admitted that he has to be “open to everything” following the end of his loan spell at Hamburger SV.
The 25-year-old joined Hamburg on a season-long loan deal in September and he made 31 appearances across all competitions for the club during the 2025-26 campaign, scoring seven goals and providing six assists.
Vieira, who struggled to break into Arsenal’s preferred starting XI before his loan move to the German outfit, helped Merlin Polzin’s side retain their Bundesliga status with a 13th-place finish and the club have been tipped to pursue a permanent deal this summer.
When asked about the possibility of returning to Hamburg before the start of next season, the Arsenal star admitted: “I have to be open to everything. Let’s see what happens.
“No matter what the future brings, I was very happy here and will be forever grateful to the HSV. The club did everything for me, the support was amazing. I feel the love of the fans and the club. They all love me.”

The Mirror claim that Hamburg will not trigger their €22 million option to buy Vieira this summer, with the club instead keen to negotiate a far lower fee – in the region of roughly €10m.
Furthermore, following the club’s final Bundesliga match of the season on Saturday, Hamburg sporting director Claus Costa confirmed that talks will take place soon regarding their upcoming summer business.
He told the Hamburg website: “We would like to expressly thank all six [loan] players for their performances and commitment while wearing the HSV shirt.
“Fabio and Luka [Vuskovic] certainly stood out as key players over the course of the season, but all of our loan players played their part in helping us achieve our objective for our first season back in the Bundesliga ahead of the final day.
“Both on and off the pitch, they integrated superbly into the team and the club and really took on what it means to be part of HSV. We will hold discussions with the various parties over the coming days regarding a possible future at HSV.”
