Luis Enrique confirmed after PSG’s 2-1 Ligue 1 defeat to Paris FC that his Champions League finalists would be playing a friendly match before meeting Arsenal in Budapest on May 30
PSG are set to play an in-house friendly this weekend as part of their preparations for the Champions League final against Arsenal.
Luis Enrique made it clear a warm-up match was in store after his side lost their final Ligue 1 fixture 2-1 against Paris FC last weekend.
Because PSG were eliminated from the Coupe de France earlier in the season – also to Paris FC – there are 13 days between their final league match and the showpiece European mega clash in Hungary.
For that reason, Enrique has been keen to arrange a friendly so some of his players, including those returning from injury, can get some minutes in their legs.

According to local newspaper Le Parisien, the friendly is likely to take place this coming Saturday at the Campus Du Paris-Saint-Germain and will last between 60 and 90 minutes.
PSG had looked into sourcing an opponent but instead settled for a match amongst their own players to avoid the risk of potential injuries as most teams have now finished their respective seasons.
The game is unlikely to feature some youth-team players that have made recent first-team squads, however, as PSG’s U18s will compete in the Gambardella Cup final against Montpellier on Friday evening.
There’s hope that the likes of Achraf Hakimi, Willian Pacho and Nuno Mendes could be in line for some minutes.
All three players are now back in individual training following recent fitness problems while second-choice goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier is also on the comeback trail.
Enrique was also keen to avoid going into the Champions League final on the back of an underwhelming defeat, even though PSG lifted the Ligue 1 title before the match versus Paris FC kicked-off.
He said: “The program is not yet fully established. We’re going to do a little bit of everything. Rest too, because that’s important. We should also play a small friendly match, among ourselves.”
Arsenal travel to Crystal Palace on Sunday for their final Premier League match of the season but there is a chance they will have nothing to play for other than pride as they could be crowned champions this evening.
If Manchester City fail to beat Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium this evening, they will not be able to catch Arsenal at the summit.
