Miami Heats of USA star, Edrice Femi ‘Bam’ Adebayo is again in the news with another controversy, as a foul that knocked him out of a game in the National Basketball Association (NBA) is under review by the league’s disciplinary board.
Sports247 gathered that the incident occurred in The Heats’ clash with Charlotte Hornets, during which Adebayo bowed out early with a back injury from a fall caused by a ‘tough tackle’ by LaMelo Ball.

It happened after Adebayo grabbed a rebound after a layup by Ball was blocked early in the second quarter and, as the Nigerian-born star landed near the baseline, his opponent, who was on the ground, grabbed the back of his left ankle.
The Nigerian-born star needed help to get up from the court and eventually walked to the locker room, following which The Heat listed him as questionable to return with a lower back injury before ruling him out late in the third quarter.
Adebayo could not return in the game that subsequently saw his side lose to 127-126 to The Hornets in overtime, but Miami Heats’ coach, Erik Spoelstra argued after the game that Ball should have been ejected for his ‘dangerous play.’
Consequently, the NBA is reviewing Ball’s trip of Adebayo, to determine whether the tackle merits upgrading to a potential flagrant foul and likely additional punishment, with the decision expected ahead of The Hornets’ play-in game of Friday.
