Arsenal and Manchester City are battling it out to become the new Premier League champions, with the Gunners two points ahead with two matches remaining
Arsenal’s bid to win the Premier League title took a fresh twist on Friday following Aston Villa’s thumping 4-2 win against Liverpool.
The Gunners are attempting to win their first top flight since 2004 and need to beat Burnley and Crystal Palace in their final two matches to guarantee the title.
Second-place Manchester City are two points behind and face Bournemouth and Aston Villa before the end of the season.
But, should Mikel Arteta’s side slip up in their remaining games, they will require a favour from one of, if not both, Bournemouth and Villa to pip City to the Premier League title.
Bournemouth are expected to pose a major threat to City, as the Cherries sit sixth in the table and are fighting for Champions League football.
Andoni Iraola’s side are on a remarkable 16-game unbeaten run right now and have all-but secured a place in Europe next season.

City might find Villa a little easier to get past, however, given Unai Emery’s side now don’t have anything directly to play for, after they sealed a spot in the Champions League by beating Liverpool on Friday.
And, with Villa going up against Freiburg in the Europa League final on Wednesday, Emery’s players could be worse for wear come the game at the Etihad Stadium four days after, it’s safe to suggest.
Although the difficulty of City’s final two matches has lessened a little, Arsenal still have the more favourable fixtures on paper, a relegated Burnley and a Palace side that will have a European final on their minds.
Arteta’s Gunners host Burnley at the Emirates Stadium on Monday looking to make it four successive league wins after previously beating Newcastle United, Fulham and West Ham.
The Clarets, who took a point off Villa last weekend, have been relegated since mid-April and sit 19th in the table.
They then entertain Palace on the final day of the campaign. But the Eagles are expected to have one eye on the Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano three days later.
After Arsenal’s Premier League season is finished, they then have the task of getting past Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final on Saturday, May 30.
