Shakira, Madonna, and BTS will not be paid for headlining the first-ever 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show on July 19 at MetLife Stadium, according to FIFA.
They are donating their performances to support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise $100 million for children’s education worldwide.

This is the first time a musical performance of this scale is featured at a World Cup final, which will be held in New Jersey.
The move emphasizes a shift towards using major sporting platforms for social impact, with over $30 million already raised, partly through $1 from each ticket sale.
FIFA has yet to confirm how long the interval will be, although the combined performances from Madonna, BTS and Shakira is expected to last for 11 minutes.
