Favourites revealed: Sky Bet's key markets for the 2026 PGA Championship after Day One in Philadelphia

The world’s best golfers are deep in battle as Aronimink Golf Club hosts the 2026 PGA Championship. Reigning champion Scottie Scheffler is the favourite with Sky Bet, priced at 7/4 to claim the outright title.

Although Scheffler has managed just one victory so far this calendar year – at The American Express in January – the four-time major winner has been remarkably consistent without quite getting over the line.

He has finished second in each of his last three starts, including a narrow one-shot defeat at The Masters, where he was edged out by Rory McIlroy.

McIlroy, meanwhile, has fallen from 8/1 second favourite to 50/1 outsider after an opening round score of 74.

Fresh from his victory at Augusta, the Northern Irishman also finished runner-up at the Genesis Invitational earlier in 2026.

He finished tied 47th at three-over-par last year and has a mountain to climb to challenge the leaders.

Xander Schauffele, Jon Rahm, Min Woo Lee and Cameron Young complete the group of leading contenders, priced at 10/1, 12/1, 14/1 and 22/1 respectively.

Young impressed with a tied-third finish at The Masters before going on to win the Miami Championship earlier this month, while Schauffele also secured a top-ten finish at Augusta.

For those looking further down the market, England’s Matt Fitzpatrick offers strong value at 35/1.

Fitzpatrick has been in exceptional form of late, capturing victories at the Valspar Championship, RBC Heritage and Zurich Classic this year, alongside a runner-up finish at The Players Championship.
