Tottenham have not won the top-flight league title since 1961, but they are still considered to be part of the Premier League’s traditional ‘big-six’.
The club, who are nicknamed Spurs, have been in the shadow of their north London rivals Arsenal in recent years, particularly after not winning a trophy for 15 years until their 2024 Europa League win.
The distance between Tottenham and Arsenal peaked in 2026 when Tottenham battled relegation while Arsenal pushed for the title in a historic campaign.
Despite challenging over the past few seasons, the best win rate of any Spurs manager in history belongs to Frank Bretell, whose spell in charge came in the late 1890s.

Who is the current Tottenham manager?
Roberto De Zerbi is the current manager of Tottenham, having been appointed in April 2026. The Italian made his name in England with Brighton before going to Marseille where he had a turbulent stint that eventually saw him depart in February 2026.
De Zerbi answered Tottenham’s call with Spurs battling relegation and he turned around their form to give them a fighting chance of avoiding the drop.
