Hojlund to fund Fernandes deal?

West Ham have put a prohibitive €100 million price tag on Mateus Fernandes, Football Insider claims.

Man Utd have taken a keen interest in the Portugal international as the Hammers are staring down the barrel of relegation. Fernandes is expected to leave the club after just one season. West Ham want to keep the youngster and will not sell him cheaply.

However, Man Utd will have money to spend once Rasmus Hojlund’s €44m move to Napoli is made permanent. The Serie A giants just need to qualify for the Champions League, which they remain on course to achieve despite losing to Bologna on Monday.

Sadiki break silence

Sunderland midfielder Noah Sadiki has addressed the transfer speculation that has been swirling in recent weeks.

The Congo DR international has been heavily linked with Chelsea and Man Utd, both of whom have reportedly been in contact with his camp since at least December. Sadiki is expected to be one to watch this summer.

However, the Sunderland star insists that he is currently fully focused on the Black Cats’ remaining games and the upcoming World Cup. “I still have two matches to play with Sunderland, then the World Cup, which will be very special for the Congolese people,” he said.

“And as for the rest, we’ll see next season when the time is right.”

Chelsea in Anderson race

Chelsea are also in the race to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, the i Paper has confirmed.

The England star has been heavily linked with Arsenal, Man Utd and Man City, with Pep Guardiola’s side believed to be the favourites to sign him after what has been an impressive season despite Forest’s struggles.

Chelsea have been tentatively linked as well, and it has now been substantiated that they are genuinely interested. However, they are considered outsiders for his signature.

Leao swap?

Man Utd legend Jaap Stam has proposed swapping Marcus Rashford for AC Milan star Rafael Leao.

The former is currently on loan at Barcelona, but the Catalans are unwilling (or unable) to pay his €30m buyout clause. Rashford therefore faces the prospect of being forced to return to Man Utd.

Stam believes that there may be a possibility to trade him with Leao, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford amid an uncertain future at Milan. “Maybe a swap between Rafael Leao and Marcus Rashford could work,” the Dutchman surmised.

“Leao is also a good player. He has shown his potential at Milan, of course, in what he can do. I think he is a player that should be on the list of targets for Manchester United.”

Man Utd eye Pavlovic

Man Utd have strongly entered the race to sign AC Milan centre-back Strahinja Pavlovic, as per Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness).

Milan have been in dire form recently, and the threat of slipping out of a Champions League spot looms large. Consequently, it has been posited that Pavlovic could be sold.

The €40m-rated defender has been linked with Chelsea in recent weeks, but reports from Italy now suggest that it is “above all” Man Utd who are looking to sign him.
