Buffalo Bills have swooped for former Kansas City Chiefs outside linebacker Mike Danna, adding the two-time Super Bowl winner to their roster on a one-year deal.
Danna heads to Buffalo after six years in Kansas City and joins the Bills to help usher in a new era at the organization.
The Bills head into the 2026 campaign with Joe Brady as their new head coach after the ruthless firing of Sean McDermott, while they will also play at a new 60,000-seater stadium in the coming season.
But while a lot has changed, the goal of finally winning the team’s first ever Super Bowl title in the Josh Allen era remains very much the same.
And to that extent, the arrival of Danna is an astute addition given the experience he has of getting his hands on the Lombardi trophy.
The 28-year-old was released by the Chiefs in February as Andy Reid’s team shuffled their pack to create cap space for their own rebuild after missing out on the playoffs entirely in 2025.

Danna was drafted by Kansas City in round five in 2020. He has 21.5 regular-season sacks and two in the playoffs to his name so far in his career.
The Bills and Chiefs have formed a growing rivalry in recent years, with Patrick Mahomes and his team often standing between Buffalo and football’s showpiece game.
Since 2021, the Chiefs have beaten the Bills in the playoffs four times. It made Buffalo’s loss to the Denver Broncos all the more agonizing last year given that there was no Kansas City on the path to the Super Bowl.
Furthermore, the Chiefs traded with the Bills to get the 10th pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, where they picked Mahomes.
Danna will also be remembered fondly at the Chiefs for the amusing moment he started a press conference just minutes after teammate Travis Kelce announced he was engaged to Taylor Swift.
The news sent the internet into meltdown but Danna had been too busy to have noticed the news being made public before facing reporters.
