The Manchester United legend has predicted which team will lift the Premier League title at the end of the 2025/26 season
Wayne Rooney believes neither Arsenal nor Manchester City will slip up between now and the end of the season – a scenario that would see Mikel Arteta’s side crowned Premier League champions by two points. The Gunners must respond to City’s 3-0 win over Brentford on Saturday when they face West Ham at the London Stadium.
Arsenal can take another huge step towards the Premier League title despite City remaining firmly in the race. Goals from Jeremy Doku, Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush sealed the win that moved Pep Guardiola’s side to within two points of the north Londoners.
City still have nine points to play for, including what will be a game in hand against Crystal Palace, which will be take place on Wednesday (May 13th). Arsenal also have nine points left to play for, starting with the trip to the Hammers.

“I think City just have to try and win their games, I said this last week that I felt City would drop points against Everton,” Rooney said. “I feel both teams will win every game [from now], which makes Arsenal champions.”

When asked what the Arsenal players may be experiencing in the build‑up to a potential title win, Rooney stated: “Excitement, nervous. You get every emotion and obviously with Man City winning today, now it’s on Arsenal to go out and win the game against West Ham.
“Every type of emotion you think you can have, you go through over this next couple of weeks and it’s brilliant when you’re in it and when you get out of it at the right time then it’s such a good feeling. But when you’re on the wrong side of it, it’s one of the worst feelings in the world.”
If both teams do win the rest of their games, Arsenal would finish on 85 points and City on 83.
