Several Chelsea stars have uncertain futures at the club ahead of the summer transfer window
Chelsea are set for another squad overhaul in the summer transfer window. The Blues have endured a dismal campaign that could see the club miss out on European football.
As the Chelsea hierarchy weigh up who will be the next permanent manager, several players have uncertain futures at Stamford Bridge. The arrival of a new manager, combined with summer signings, will bring changes to Chelsea’s squad.
Interim boss Calum McFarlane is scheduled to take charge of the team’s last four games of the season, including the FA Cup final. However, eight players may have already played their final game for the club.
Alejandro Garnacho
Alejandro Garnacho has had an underwhelming first season at Chelsea. The winger arrived from Manchester United and has shown flashes of quality but struggled to find consistent form.

The 21-year-old has already been linked with a move away in the summer transfer window. Interim boss McFarlane started the Argentina international in Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final win over Leeds but Garnacho missed the recent defeat to Nottingham Forest through injury and could face a battle to regain his place before the end of the campaign.
Robert Sanchez/Filip Jorgensen
The goalkeeping situation at Chelsea has been settled this term. Robert Sanchez has started 33 league games, forcing Filip Jorgensen to accept a backup role.
Spaniard Sanchez has faced criticism since joining from Brighton in 2023, while Jorgensen has also failed to convince when given opportunities. The Denmark international recently replaced an injured Sanchez against Forest for his fourth league appearance of the season.
It remains to be seen which of the pair will keep their place until the end of the campaign. However, Chelsea’s future manager may wish to sign a new goalkeeper upon arriving at the club, which would force at least one of the shot-stoppers to look for a move away.
Nicolas Jackson
The striker sealed a loan move to Bayern Munich last summer. Nicolas Jackson found himself pushed down the pecking order through both Joao Pedro and Liam Delap signing for the Blues.
The 24-year-old has been the clear second choice behind Harry Kane during his time in Munich, scoring 10 goals in 31 games. While Bayern are not planning to make his stay permanent, it feels unlikely that Jackson would choose to fight his way back into Chelsea’s plans next season.
Axel Disasi
The defender has been a standout player for West Ham United since joining from his parent club in January. The 28-year-old found himself frozen out of the Chelsea squad earlier this season after failing to secure a move away last summer.
Disasi, who previously spent time on loan at Aston Villa, last played for Chelsea in January 2025. While West Ham may wish to keep the defender, should the club avoid relegation, his performances could also attract interest from several other sides.
Tyrique George
The 20-year-old academy graduate could find his chances increasingly limited should he return to Stamford Bridge in the summer. George has also struggled for minutes since joining Everton on loan in February but the winger would still not be short of possible suitors in the transfer window.
David Datro Fofana
David Datro Foana is currently on his fifth loan spell away from Chelsea since joining the club in 2023. The 23-year-old, who made four appearances for the Blues during his debut season, joined Strasbourg in February and will likely not be part of Chelsea’s plans for next term.
Mykhailo Mudryk
Mykhailo Mudryk has been serving a doping ban since December 2024. He is currently appealing his four-year suspension and his case is understood to have been sent to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. Mudryk joined Chelsea in January 2023, making 73 appearances for the club.
