Leandro Trossard has made it clear Arsenal need to turn their focus back to the Premier League promptly after reaching their first Champions League final since 2006
Leandro Trossard insists Manchester City’s draw at Everton on Monday night did not provide extra fuel for Arsenal against Atletico Madrid.
Mikel Arteta made no secret of the fact he’d be tuning in and despite Jeremy Doku’s last-gasp equaliser, the Premier League title is now back in the Gunners’ hands with just three matches to spare.
Trossard has revealed that the Arsenal squad did not watch the match together and was keen to stress they had already put the emotion of domestic matters aside to focus on reaching the Champions League final.
When asked if the result upped the temperature, the Belgian said: “I don’t think so because it’s a different competition.

“Everyone wanted to go through to the final and it was one game for us today as well. As I said, I think the atmosphere was unbelievable and with them behind us we did a special thing today.
“We only went to the hotel today, we were at home [on Monday evening], so I just watched it at home with some friends.
“It’s a good result for us obviously. It’s in our hands and with three games to go. I think that’s a good thing to have.”
Arsenal head to West Ham on Sunday, striving to take another notable step towards history.
While Trossard doesn’t want to downplay the significance of reaching Budapest, he understands the group cannot afford to bask in the glory when the huge games just keep on coming.
He continued: “It’s an amazing feeling to go to the final, but obviously the focus shifts after today again to the Premier League, but let’s enjoy tonight because it’s an amazing feeling.
“We just want to win the Premier League and then we have a big final ahead. We have three important games in the Premier League and we know what we’re playing for.
“Sometimes you have these moments in the season where it shifts towards you and everyone has full belief that we can do it. That’s how it is at the moment.”
Trossard was involved in Bukayo Saka’s all-important winner as his low shot was kept out by Jan Oblak before the stand-in Arsenal skipper turned in the rebound.
The forward paid tribute to his team-mate for being in the right place at the right time, explaining: “I think that’s one of his biggest qualities. He’s in and around the box and so dangerous when somebody misses. Today, he scored that type of goal and got us one.”
