A missing British man has been found dead on a Costa del Sol beach after vanishing at sea.
The 25-year-old had been at the centre of a major search effort by police, coastguards and Red Cross officials for almost three days before the tragic discovery was made on Saturday morning.
The alarm was raised late last Wednesday just before 10.30pm after a young man described at the time as a “foreigner” was seen entering the sea at a popular beach in Malaga called Misericordia Beach.
A man’s body was discovered at the neighbouring Huelin Beach on the sand and out of the water, but it was not initially clear if he was the same person feared missing. Today, police sources confirmed the body was that of the man seen entering the sea and revealed he was a British national.
