Nasarawa United technical adviser Mbwas Mangut has said his team will keep pushing to secure a place on the continent despite the 3-2 defeat to Shooting Stars.
The Solid Miners put up a resolute display in the game, rallying from two goals down, before eventually succumbing to the hosts.
The Lafia club remain in sixth position on the table with 53 points, and have just two games to achieve their objective.
Mangut Disappointed With Defeat
Mangut expressed disappointment with the outcome of the game with Shooting Stars, but insisted that they will fight to be among the top three teams on the table at the end of the season.
“I feel so disappointed with the result today after putting up a superb performance into game,” Mangut told the club’s media.

“We lost due to a momentary loss of concentration.
“However, I am happy with the performance of my wards. We came determined to win today, unfortunately, we were many times unlucky in front of goal.
“Congratulations to the hosts.
“Like I said before, the league is still open to teams from the first six positions.
“We will fight till the end of the season, with the hope of achieving our set goals.
“For now, our focus is on our next and last home game of the season against Plateau United in Lafia. We will talk about that when we get to the bridge.”
