Minnesota Timberwolves’ Nigerian-born rookie, Ayo Dosunmu has been listed as doubtful for the history chasing team in Monday’s National Basketball Association (NBA) play-off opener versus San Antonio Spurs.
Sports247 reports that The Wolves managed to survive in Game 6 against Denver Nuggets without Dosunmu on Thursday, but they could jolly well need their pre-season signing in the clashes with San Antonio.

However, heading into next week’s games against the former NBA champions, Minnesota are still sweating over their acquisition from Chicago Bulls, who recorded a career high 43 points in Game 4 versus The Nuggets.
Dosunmu’s quality would highly be desired for Minnesota’s battles against the Western Conference’s second-seeded side, who will fancy their chances of victory over the sixth-seeded Timberwolves.
As both sides brace for action in the second round of the 2026 NBA playoffs, the first time these teams will square off in the post-season since 2001, apprehension is rising over Dosunmu’s availability.
A preview by Sports.Yahoo noted in part, “When Edwards and DiVincenzo went down, trade-deadline acquisition Ayo Dosunmu stepped up, delivering a 43-point Game 4 masterclass to become a Twin Cities folk hero.
“When Dosunmu, too, became unavailable due to right calf soreness for Game 6, leaving the Wolves without their top three guards in a closeout game, it was McDaniels who soared.
“Little-used sophomore wing Terrence Shannon Jr. (24 points and six rebounds) also stepped in to join Julius Randle and Naz Reid in shouldering enough of the offensive workload to finish the job.”
