Israel’s Defence Minister Yisrael Katz has said Israel could resume war on Iran “soon” to achieve its alleged “objectives”, amid stalled negotiations.
Speaking at a ceremony marking the promotion of a new air force commander, Katz said Tehran had suffered “very harsh blows” over the past year that had set it back significantly.
He added that challenges facing Israel are expected to intensify, while describing the current moment as presenting “historic opportunities” to reshape the regional landscape.
Katz said US President Donald Trump, in coordination with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is leading efforts to achieve the war’s objectives, including ensuring that Iran does not pose what he described as a threat to Israel, the United States and “the free world”.
“We support these efforts and provide the necessary backing, but we may soon have to act again to ensure the objectives are achieved,” Katz said.
