The bus hit a parked car before both vehicles plunged into the River Seine in France with passengers on board
A bus carrying passengers has plunged into a major river in France after a trainee driver reportedly made an error.
The vehicle hit a parked car that also fell into the River Seine at around 8:30am UK time this morning. Four people were on the bus at the time, including the driver, an instructor, and two passengers. It is understood no one was in the parked car.
The incident unfolded at the Seine near the Quai Jean-Pierre Timbaud, according to local reports. A team of divers raced to the area and all four passengers were rescued from the bus as it quickly began to sink.
Images showed the vehicle fully submerged in water while a dark blue car lay floating a few feet away. Divers searched the vehicle before confirming no one was trapped inside.
