Former minister of sports, Chief Sunday Dare has heaped praises on the second-tier Nigerian National League (NNL), with a verdict that the officials are doing pretty well, hence his decision to identify with them, Sports247 reports.
Dare, who is now the special adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, gave the commendation while confirming that he will be present at the opening ceremony of this year’s NNL Super-4 on Monday.

The veteran journalist and technology buff added that he looks forward to another historic milestone in the ongoing transformation of Nigerian football at all levels of the league when the competition holds next week at Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne.
Dare will be on hand to see intense clashes among Inter Lagos, Sporting Lagos, Doma United and Ranchers Bees, as all four clubs that were recently promoted to the top-flight Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) eye NNL’s crown.
While hailing progress being made by the NNL under the leadership of ace sports journalist and editor, George Aluo, Dare recalled the excitement he saw last year at the Super-8 in Asaba, Delta State and enthused that it will be better this time out.
“The NNL is doing very well and that is why I identify with their programmes. On the whole, I want to commend the NFF for turning around the domestic leagues. The transformation that is taking place in NNL is the same in NPFL.
“This is good for our football. It also aligns with President Tinubu’s vision to use the sports sector to drive the nation’s development,” affirmed Dare, who is still highly acclaimed for some innovations he brought into sports during his tenure.
