Anambra State Football Association chairman, Chikelue Iloenyosi has promised to provide better representation for the country’s south-east if he is elected from the zone into the next executive committee of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Sports247 reports that the former Super Eagles’ defender gave the pledge while announcing his decision to step forward as a candidate in this year’s elective process towards the emergence of a new board to run Nigerian football.

The ex-international, who is fondly called ‘General,’ made his aspiration known in a video message he sent from Southeast London, where he calmly spelt out what he referred to as his vision for football in Nigeria at all levels of the game.
Iloenyosi, who is also chairman of the board of trustees of All Nigeria Football Players Union, stressed that he is not desperate for the post, but added that his desire is to contribute towards enhanced development of the round leather game.
While affirming that his declaration is driven by a call to serve, rather than personal ambition, Iloenyosi asserted the need for stronger structures, youth development efforts, better sponsorship platforms and improved welfare for players.
“I am here to let all my fans and stakeholders in football in Anambra State and worldwide know that General Chikelue Iloenyosi is coming out to contest for the NFF Board position representing the South-East.
“We pray to Almighty God that we succeed. If we win, we give thanks to God. If we don’t win, we still give thanks to God because we are not desperate. We are here to support the growth of football and contribute to development in Nigeria.
“God bless you all,” said Iloenyosi, who further expressed optimism about a glorious future for Nigerian football through better organisation in the NFF and concrete support from an array of united stakeholders for progress of the game.
