President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Musa Nimrod, has declared that Nigeria is fully focused on qualifying for the beach volleyball event at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
After missing out on three consecutive Olympic appearances in the discipline, Nimrod insists the federation is determined to change the narrative.

“We are targeting the Olympics,” he said.
According to him, Nigeria’s growing reputation in volleyball provides a strong foundation to build on, but achieving qualification will require deliberate planning and sustained effort.
“We are working hard,” he implied.
Nimrod revealed that the federation is leaving no stone unturned, putting structures in place to identify talent, improve training, and enhance international exposure for players.
“We are doing everything possible,” he added.
For him, the focus is not just on participation but on competitiveness, ensuring that Nigeria can perform at a high level once qualification is secured.
“We want to compete,” he stressed.
He also acknowledged past disappointments but emphasized that they have served as lessons for the future.
“We have learned,” he noted.
The road to Los Angeles 2028 will be challenging, with strong competition from established nations, but Nimrod remains optimistic about Nigeria’s chances.
“This time will be different,” he said confidently.
As preparations intensify, the federation’s ambition reflects a broader push to elevate Nigerian volleyball on the global stage.
