Five things to know about the shooting
Here are five things to know about theParadise Lane,Williamston shooting:
- Martin County Sheriff’s Office – Drew Robinson, Sheriff said in a Facebook post that “there are several victims.”
- Robinson added that “the suspect has been identified and is in custody at this time.”
- Robinson further said that there does not appear to be any ongoing threat to the public at present. “Due to the suspect being in custody and information that we have received thus far, we do not believe that there is any ongoing threat to the public,” the post reads.
- Everyone has been urged to “avoid the area of Paradise Lane and Fire Department Road, as there will be a large law enforcement presence.”
- Deputies and emergency respondersare still on the scene, continuing to investigate andto secure the area, Channel 2 Now reported. Astrong law enforcement presence around Paradise Lane and Fire Department Roadcan be expected asauthorities process evidence and more additional details.
Paradise Lane is a residential street in Williamston, North Carolina. Williamston is a small town in Martin County, located in the eastern part of the state, about 20 miles east of Greenville, and is a rural community of approximately 5,500 residents.
Paradise Lane is located off Fire Department Road. It is a residential area, with homes, driveways, and yards.

It is unclear if the victims were residents of Paradise Lane or visitors to the area. It is also unclear if they were targeted or were innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire.
