AC Milan of Italy’s Nigerian-born defender, Fikayo Tomori has disclosed that he wants to keep on playing active football at the highest level until he clocks 36 years old, after which he will start using his academics certificate, Sports247 reports.
The Nigerian-born England international, who revealed that he has a degree in Business Management, added that he is staying calm about his contract at Milan, where speculation is rising that he could be on his way out this summer.
While also speaking about his ambition of being part of England’s Three Lions’ squad to this year’s FIFA World Cup in USA, Mexico and the country of his birth, Canada, Tomori stressed that he is not worried about his future in Milan.
Rather than fret over what is to come at the end of this season, Tomori disclosed that his agent is already in discussions with Milan’s management about a new deal at The San Siro, where his current contract runs up to 2027.
Tomori told Italian publication, La Gazzetta dello Sport: “I’ve been in Italy for five and a half years: I feel like a Milanista. The club and my agents are negotiating, but I’m focused on the five games we have left to qualify for the Champions League.
“I want to play until I’m 35 or 36, and I have a few more seasons ahead of me. I hope to take advantage of my degree in Business Management, perhaps to work alongside my father, who deals with financial statements.”
