Nigerian athletes will not have any tales of woe regarding welfare and hospitality during this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, if the words of top officials are anything to go by, Sports247 reports.
An assurance in this direction was provided by the chairperson of Nigeria’s Elite Athletes Development Podium Board and Chef de Mission, Yusuf Alli, who also disclosed that arrangements for the contingent in Glasgow have been concluded.

He added that the National Sports Commission (NSC) is taking a refreshing shift in Nigeria’s approach to preparations for international competitions by putting many things in place well ahead of the Commonwealth Games, scheduled for July 23rd to August 2nd.
Alli enthused that, by ensuring that logistics, funding and welfare packages are in place well ahead of time, the NSC has created an environment for the country’s athletes to focus fully on their preparations for the upcoming competition.
“All our accommodations in Glasgow, our training camp, and uniforms have been sorted out. Training grants for athletes and their allowances during the Games have also been worked out,” Alli revealed.
