Sports247 gathered that, while Lookman is still battling to overcome his personal injury problems, the entire squad also has to recover fast from their recent loss to Real Sociedad in the Copa Del Rey final and last weekend’s 3-2 defeat by Elche.

That is the down-to-earth verdict of Lookman’s club’s chief executive, Mateu Alemany, who admitted that their Copa del Rey defeat hit the players hard and left them in a very bad situation emotionally, from which they now have to recover.

“Bad, very bad. Because there was an important title that we were all really excited about. We have to recover because very important things are coming up. We’re taking a step back and reflecting on what happened.

“Now comes that cycle of matches that will take us to the Champions League semi-final, which is the main objective. The team has shown that it’s very strong in the knockout stages and capable of eliminating Barcelona twice.

“We can do it with Arsenal. We have a final on the horizon. We’re doing everything possible and impossible to prepare for Wednesday,” Alemany said, while harping on the need for Lookman and his pals to bounce back stronger.
