Two Palestinians were killed, and four others injured in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, in the latest violation of a ceasefire agreement in place since last October, the Health Ministry said, Anadolu reports.
The ministry said in its daily update that hospitals in the enclave received two bodies. It said one was killed by army fire, while the other died of wounds sustained in a previous attack, without specifying the circumstances of the deaths.
The ministry added that four people were also injured by Israeli fire.
According to the ministry, the new casualties brought the death toll from Israel’s war on Gaza since Oct. 8, 2023 to 72,562 people and 172,320 others injured.
The ministry said that 786 Palestinians have been killed and 2,217 others injured by Israeli fire since the ceasefire took effect on Oct. 10, 2025.
Medical sources earlier said that a Palestinian was killed and two brothers were wounded in an Israeli attack on Old Gaza Street, east of Jabalia, in the northern Gaza Strip.
In a related development, eastern neighborhoods of Gaza City came under artillery shelling and heavy gunfire from Israeli military vehicles positioned along the edge of the enclave, local sources said.
Witnesses also said Israeli vehicles opened heavy fire toward areas east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
On April 14, Gaza’s Government Media Office said in a statement that Israel had committed 2,400 violations of the ceasefire agreement, including killings, arrests, blockade measures, and starvation.
The agreement was reached after two years of a genocidal war that has caused widespread destruction affecting 90% of the infrastructure in the enclave.
