Kansas City Chiefs linebackers coach Dave Merritt has been arrested on a domestic battery charge just one day before the 2026 NFL Draft, according to a report.
Merritt, 54, was arrested at around 8:50pm local time on Wednesday night – 24 hours before the draft – and booked into the Johnson County jail about 10:25pm, according to the Kansas City Star.
The coach has been accused of ‘unlawfully, knowingly, or recklessly’ causing bodily harm to a daughter, which constitutes a domestic violence offense.
