Inacio battle erupts

Chelsea and five other clubs are in an “epic” battle to sign Sporting CP centre-back Goncalo Inacio, Apito Final claims.

The Portugal international is a long-standing target for Europe’s top clubs, and he could finally get his big move this summer. He can be signed for €60 million due to a release clause in his contract.

In addition to Chelsea, the Portuguese outlet asserts that Barcelona, Liverpool, Man Utd and Real Madrid are also showing an interest in Inacio. The Blues are braced for “fierce competition” from the defender’s other admirers.

Tottenham hopeful of Gray stay

Tottenham are confident that they will be able to keep hold of Archie Gray if they can manage to stave off relegation from the Premier League, as per Football Insider.

The versatile youngster has been one of the few positives of Spurs’ dire season, which has naturally seen him attract the interest of other clubs. Liverpool and Chelsea have both been linked with him in recent weeks.

However, Spurs believe that they will be in a position to fend off interest in Gray if they can manage to retain their Premier League status. They want to build their team around the 20-year-old.

Man Utd “promise” Conceicao bid

Man Utd have “promised” to place a bid for Palmeiras wonderkid Eduardo Conceicao, according to UOL.

The teenager is being chased by numerous European giants despite not yet making his senior debut for the Brazilian side. Conceicao is being billed as the next Estevao, who also came through at Palmeiras.

The youngster has a €100m release clause in his deal, but Man Utd are expected to submit an offer in the region of €40m. Palmeiras have already rebuffed bids worth €35m and €25m + €15m in add-ons from other clubs.

Chelsea join Gordon race

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon, TEAMtalk states.

The England international was omitted from the Magpies’ matchday squad at the weekend after Eddie Howe came out publicly and said that he would only use players who are fully committed to the club.

Newcastle are “increasingly resigned” to losing Gordon, with Chelsea the latest club to express an interest. Arsenal and Bayern have also been strongly linked with the winger.

Arsenal rivalled for Palestra

Inter are showing a strong interest in Arsenal target Marco Palestra, according to SportItalia.

The Italian full-back is spending the season at Cagliari on loan from Atalanta. His exceptional performances have attracted widespread attention, with Arsenal, in particular, heavily linked with him.

Inter are also firmly in the mix, but Arsenal will likely have a financial advantage. Atalanta don’t want to sell for less than €30m, which could make this deal too expensive for Inter. Moreover, Palestra is represented by the same agent as Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori.
