Arsenal host Newcastle in Premier League action on Saturday evening at the Emirates Stadium
Anthony Gordon is reportedly a doubt for Newcastle’s trip to Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend.
The England international winger, who is on the Gunners’ summer transfer radar, is nursing a hip issue and has not featured for the Magpies since their 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace.
Gordon missed Newcastle’s 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Bournemouth last weekend and according to the Daily Mail, doubts have now emerged over his availability for this weekend.
Eddie Howe said before facing his former club that he wouldn’t field any player who was not “100 per cent committed” to Newcastle.

He explained: “After I had the chat with Sandro [Tonali], the biggest thing I look for is the commitment to training. That will be the same with Anthony [Gordon] and every player.
“I won’t play a player if I don’t think they are 100% committed to the club and its future. I have to do what I think is right for the team.
“Players who are high-profile like they are here, they’re in the news all the time for loads of different reasons.
Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento, another player Arsenal admire, will definitely miss the game on Saturday due to injury.
The defender came off against the Cherries due to a muscle issue and now needs to undergo further tests.
Arsenal also have several injury issues of their own. Mikel Arteta is hopeful of welcoming back winger Bukayo Saka, who has been missing since before the international break due to an achilles issue.
Full-back’s Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori are also edging closer to returns but were forced to sit out of Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Manchester City.
Calafiori sustained a knock in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final versus Sporting CP while Timber has been missing with a groin issue sustained in the 2-0 win over Everton last month.
Attacking midfielder Mikel Merino remains sidelined following foot surgery and is progressing slowly. The hope is that he’ll be able to play for the club again this season.
Arsenal could be second in the table by the time they face the Magpies as Manchester City can go top tonight if they beat Burnley by more than two goals.
