Manchester City now FAVOURITES with Sky Bet to win the Premier League following their win over Arsenal

Manchester City took a significant step towards securing a fifth Premier League title in six seasons with a 2–1 victory over Arsenal at the Etihad on Sunday.

The result sees Pep Guardiola’s side move within three points of the league leaders, with a game in hand and an appealing fixture against relegation-threatened Burnley awaiting them on Wednesday.

The win on Sunday has also shifted the betting landscape. For the first time this season, City have overtaken Arsenal as favourites with Sky Bet.

At the time of writing, Guardiola’s men are priced at 8/13, while Arsenal have drifted to 6/5 second-favourites.

Should Manchester City take care of business against Burnley, they would draw level on points with Arsenal and move to the top of the table, either on goal difference or goals scored, with just five games remaining.

Arsenal, meanwhile, face a tricky test of their own this weekend, hosting Newcastle at the Emirates.

While the Gunners have won their last two meetings with the North East side, those victories followed a run of three consecutive defeats against them across the Premier League and Carabao Cup – highlighting how challenging this fixture has been in recent seasons.

Set against Arsenal’s recent dip in form across all competitions, it shapes up to be another potentially hazardous outing for Mikel Arteta’s side as they look to steady themselves and keep their title hopes on track.

With that in mind, the run-in promises to be a compelling finale to the season.
