Cole Palmer to join Man Utd?

Cole Palmer recently denied speculation suggesting he could join Manchester United this summer, but Paul Merson believes a transfer to Old Trafford could take place amid the Blues’ current woes.

“No Champions League football will be a kick in the teeth for Chelsea. Do you think Cole Palmer will be at Chelsea playing in the Europa Conference League? I don’t think so,” he wrote in his latest Sky Sports column.

“Manchester United will get into the Champions League, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he was playing there next season.”

However, on Enzo Fernandez, Merson added: “I don’t see Enzo Fernandez leaving though. Where is he going? No one’s paying £100m for him. And Chelsea aren’t going to accept a loss on him.”

Chelsea wonderkid agrees professional contract – Romano

Chelsea wonderkid Calvin Diakite is set to sign his first professional contract at the club after reaching an agreement on terms with Liam Rosenior’s side.

The England youth international turned 17 years old earlier this month and Chelsea have moved swiftly to reach an agreement on a professional deal, according to football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano.

He posted on X: “Chelsea have agreed [a] pro deal with 17 year old talented defender Calvin Diakite. Agreement valid until June 2028 with Diakite who’s been part of the Chelsea U21’s, U18’s and England youth team.”

Diakite has made 22 appearances in the U18 Premier League so far this season, with Chelsea currently top of the South Division, while he has also played twice in the Premier League 2 since the turn of the year.

Robert Lewandowski wanted?

Chelsea have expressed “formal interest” in Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski, as per a speculative report from Spanish outlet Fichajes.

Liam Rosenior’s side are reportedly set to add some much-needed experience to their squad this summer and they have earmarked Lewandowski as a possible signing amid his uncertain future at Camp Nou.

Barcelona are eager to agree a new contract with the Poland legend, but he is currently set to become a free agent in July and Chelsea are reportedly keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge to provide competition for Joao Pedro.

However, Lewandowski’s preference remains an extended spell at Barca.

Gabriel Mec interest

Chelsea have rekindled their interest in Gremio wonderkid Gabriel Mec, according to ESPN Brazil (via Sport Witness).

The Blues were extremely close to landing the Brazilian teenager in 2024, but they ultimately backed away from a deal despite reaching an agreement to secure a transfer. Interest was rekindled ahead of last summer, while the club are reportedly once again eyeing a possible move.

It’s reported that Gremio are demanding a fee of between €15-20m amid interest from Chelsea and Newcastle United.

Mec has just over 12 months remaining on his current deal and although Gremio want to finalise a contract extension, a sale could be permitted this summer as they look to avoid losing him on a Bosman transfer in 2027.

Chelsea told to sign Bernardo Silva

Bernardo Silva will officially leave Manchester City when his contract expires in July and ex-Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit believes he would be an excellent signing for his former club.

“How can Chelsea compete for the title? Sign more experienced players that can bring more confidence, that can be the link between this young generation, that can be the link with the manager as well, that can be the image for the fans,” Petit told Andy’s Bet Club (via Metro).

“I think experienced players for me is the most important. Quality players, very experienced players, a strong goalkeeper, central defenders, top players with character and personality in the spine of the team.

“Bernardo Silva would be a great signing but if I’m Silva, I’m not going to Chelsea. No, I’m definitely not going over there.”

Alex Scott battle

Chelsea are set to challenge Man Utd for the signing of Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott during the upcoming summer transfer window, as per CaughtOffside.

The 22-year-old, who earned his first senior England call-up earlier this season, has been one of the standout midfielders in the Premier League in 2025-26 and Chelsea have sounded him out as a possible signing amid rumours that Enzo Fernandez could be sold to Real Madrid.

Scott has scored three goals in 33 Premier League games this term and Man Utd are also keeping tabs on his development as they prepare for the imminent departure of Casemiro.
