Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has denied speculation that Alejandro Garnacho will be sold during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Argentina winger has endured a difficult debut season at Stamford Bridge, following his arrival from Manchester United for €46.2 million, and widespread rumours suggest that he could be offloaded after just one year in west London.
Garnacho has only scored one Premier League goal in 22 games for Chelsea so far this campaign and he is set to fall further down the pecking order after Geovany Quenda arrives from Sporting CP in July.
It’s also understood that Chelsea are eager to sign another new winger this summer following a hugely disappointing 2025-26 season, with Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye and Brentford’s Kevin Schade among those to have been linked with a Stamford Bridge switch in recent weeks.
Garnacho has found game time especially hard to come by since the appointment of Rosenior as the permanent replacement for Enzo Maresca, but the Englishman has provided his support for the 21-year-old after another underwhelming performance versus his former club Man Utd on Saturday.

Speaking to reporters ahead of Chelsea’s crucial Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday night, Rosenior was asked about reports suggesting that Garnacho will be sold by the Blues hierarchy this summer.
“I’d like to know the source of the report. These reports can come from anywhere,” he said (via Football.London).
“Garna is 21 years old. Garna is someone who has special qualities when he is in a good place and he’s in good form. And my job is to help him reach those levels.”
In total, Garnacho has 12 goal contributions in 39 games across all competitions since joining Chelsea, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €59.9m.
