Manchester United are preparing to submit an official offer worth up to €40 million for Palmeiras wonderkid Eduardo Conceicao.
The 16-year-old has emerged as one of the most sought-after youngsters in South America over the past 12 months and Michael Carrick’s side are keen to win the race for his signature amid significant competition from a number of top European clubs.
Man Utd have been linked with a move for the teenager for several months and they have now “promised” to lodge a €40m bid, according to a report from Brazilian outlet UOL.
Conceicao is yet to make his first-team debut for Palmeiras, but his current contract with the Brazilian outfit includes a release clause worth €100m, and several elite teams are vying for his signature.
It’s reported that Palmeiras are aware of significant interest in the 16-year-old, with Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, in addition to Man Utd, having all expressed their desire to sign Conceicao to his representatives.
The Daily Mail have also confirmed that Man Utd are ready to submit an official bid worth €40m for Conceicao, with the 13-time Premier League champions currently working on formalising their proposal.

Meanwhile, it’s claimed that a bid from Newcastle United worth an initial €25m, with €15m in potential add-ons, has already been rejected by Palmeiras, while Napoli have failed with a €35m offer.
Barcelona sporting director Deco has initiated direct contact with Joao Paulo Sampaio, Palmeiras’ academy co-ordinator, while Man City have “positioned themselves strongly in negotiations.” However, Man Utd have also formally entered the race to sign him as they look to secure a major coup.

Conceicao scored four goals and provided three assists in seven games at the 2026 Copinha earlier this year – Brazil’s most prestigious U20 youth football tournament – and it’s understood that Palmeiras are holding out for a fee of €50m for their latest academy starlet.
Real Madrid striker Endrick and Chelsea attacker Estevao Willian are among the wonderkids to have been produced by the club in recent years, and Conceicao is expected to follow in their footsteps by securing a high-profile move to Europe.
However, he will be unable to leave Palmeiras until he turns 18 years old in December 2027.
Man Utd’s interest in the Brazilian comes following a transfer strategy shift in recent years, with the club eager to sign talented youngsters in addition to proven stars. Ayden Heaven, Chido Obi and Diego Leon are all examples of this, and Conceicao is their latest target.
