Anthony Gordon wants to join Bayern Munich

Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon has reportedly informed his camp that he is open to joining Bayern Munich during the upcoming summer transfer window, despite significant interest from Arsenal.

The England international has emerged as a target for Vincent Kompany’s side in recent weeks and it’s understood that Bayern are ready to battle for his signature this summer as they look to add additional attacking reinforcements to their first-team squad.

It’s understood that Gordon is exploring his options ahead of a potential summer move and Sky Sports reporter Sacha Tavolieri has now revealed that the success of Michael Olise since arriving from Crystal Palace has “inspired” Gordon to join Bayern.

He has reportedly told his representatives that he is open to an Allianz Arena switch and the Bundesliga giants are expected to begin negotiations with Gordon’s agent over the coming weeks.

Honest Ahanor blow

Arsenal target Honest Ahanor is set to be offered a new four-year contract by Atalanta as they look to fend off interest from the Premier League, according to reports in Italy.

The 18-year-old’s performances this season have attracted interest from multiple top clubs across Europe, including Arsenal and Chelsea, but a deal is extremely unlikely to take place. That is because Atalanta are set to reward the Italy U21 international with a new contract, as per Nicolo Schira.

Ahanor’s current deal with the Bergamo outfit is due to expire in 2028, but he is set to be offered a new deal that will run until 2030 as they look to ward off interest from Arsenal and retain his services for at least another season.

Arsenal told to sign Marcus Rashford

Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit has told his former club to sign Marcus Rashford this summer following rumours that Barcelona may opt against agreeing a permanent deal with Manchester United.

“I would love to see Marcus Rashford at Arsenal, I think he’d have a big impact. What he has done at Barcelona, after he struggled for two or three seasons, has impressed me,” Petit said (via Manchester Evening News).

“The Rashford we know wasn’t there for a while and everyone was criticising him, at Barcelona he has recovered his qualities…

“He has something to prove coming back to England and they [Arsenal] need wingers.”

Mikel Arteta under pressure

The Arsenal board are beginning to wonder if their project under Mikel Arteta has reached its peak, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

The Gunners remain top of the Premier League table, but their defeat to Manchester City means they could be usurped if Pep Guardiola’s side beat Burnley on Wednesday night.

The prospect of missing out on the title is therefore a very real possibility and the Arsenal board are reportedly ready to review Arteta’s position at the helm if they fail to win the Premier League or the Champions League this season.

Julian Alvarez latest

Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez is reportedly not thrilled by the prospect of returning to the Premier League.

It has been well-documented that the striker has no shortage of suitors, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona and PSG all eager to secure his signature this summer.

However, Mundo Deportivo claim that Alvarez favours a move to Catalunya, though there is an awareness that the LaLiga leaders will struggle to fund a deal.

Barcelona have set an internal spending cap of €100 million and it is believed that the Madrid club won’t consider selling for anything below €120m as the club’s new owners have no appetite to sell their star player.

As for Arsenal, the report accepts that they are a “tempting” destination. However, it is claimed that Alvarez is not particularly interested in returning to the Premier League after his previous spell at Manchester City.
