Okeola Concord FC Clinch Lion of Judah Title with Narrow Win Over Ultimate FC

Okeola Concord FC emerged champions of the Lion of Judah Invitational Football Championship after edging Ultimate FC 1-0 in a tightly contested final.

The four-team tournament, organized by Royal Priesthood Fellowship International in conjunction with Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, was staged in Ifo, Ogun State as part of activities aimed at showcasing young football talents ahead of the fellowship revival scheduled for April 18, 2026.

The final was decided early, with Okeola Concord FC finding the breakthrough in the fifth minute. Despite sustained pressure from Ultimate FC for the remainder of the match, the early goal proved decisive as they struggled to find an equaliser.

A standout performer on the day was Okeola Concord’s goalkeeper, Ajala, whose impressive display between the sticks ensured his side maintained their slim advantage.

His series of crucial saves frustrated Ultimate FC’s attacking efforts and ultimately secured the title for his team.

Both finalists had navigated challenging semi-final encounters to reach the showpiece. Ultimate FC booked their place in the final with a narrow 1-0 victory over Ajax FC, while Okeola Concord FC were pushed to penalties by Femmco FC after a goalless draw, eventually triumphing 4-2 in the shootout.

The tournament attracted notable personalities from the community and beyond, including representatives of traditional and religious institutions.

Among those in attendance were Dr. Ogunjimi, representing the Baale of Okeola Community, Venerable Dr. Solomon Olanloye, Alhaji Ogunrinola, Comrade Oloyede Olabanji, Pastor Gbenga Adesanya of RPFI, Pastor Kingsley Afarbor, and Coach Oladehinde Adebayo.

The competition not only delivered exciting football but also reinforced its core objective of discovering and promoting grassroots talent within the region, providing a platform for young players to showcase their abilities on a broader stage.
